The Levendian Project

was a planned approach to teaching and training martial arts developed by Steven Saito And Travis Ewing designed to allow successata high level of martial arts competition as well as serve those who would normally not have access to serious instruction due to finance, gender or physicality.  Its small local success was due to a full utilization of the available natural environment and high personal investment by students, teachers, competitors and coaches.

The word Levendian is derivative of the name of the main character in the Harlan Ellison short The Man Who Rode Christopher Columbus Ashore. The protagonist of the story gives a strange but compelling statement through out the story

“There is only one true evil: mediocrity.”
